Beautiful hike ..I would love to do it ..but I’m already 50 and my knees and back not in great shape.i wish they could do only 5 hours of hike everyday..not 7-8 which is a killer for my aging body😅

Great video and very informative. I am a New Zealander with a campervan, so here's a quick 2024 update: There is a new self containment requirement. Unfortunately for vanlifers, there were the gross campers who toileted in public places and left a mess. WTF. Anyhoo,this meant that if you want to freedom camp in NZ you must have a properly self contained vehicle.There are strict rules on water supply and discharge, as well as the style of toilet you have. It must be plumbed in. Yep. Google the topic for further info. Lets just say, that thanks to the dirty few I can no longer freedom camp in my own country with just a portapottie. Also, the current cost of the diesel tax is 1000km = $80 NZD. Oh yes, with regard to the Warrant of Fitness (WOF) unlike many countries even a small amount of rust can fail the inspection, depending on its location. So just be mindful when buying a campervan. The Automobile Association have a pre purchase check scheme, which costs a bit, but means you know what your're getting. Cheers.

Thanks for the video. I want to do the Iceberg Lake trail, and am keeping my fingers crossed that the Highland Trail from Logan's Pass will be open at the end of June this year. Last year, I visited Glacier in mid June, and the Highland Trail was still closed due to snow.

I didn't realize that Adel, OR was that far south. Looks like as far south as you can go in Oregon before landing in Cal. Have you ever done the Warner Valley drive? (Highway 140 north out of Lakeview east. Really an amazing terrain and you eventually end up on Highway 95 where you can go south to Winnemucca in Nevada or loop north back into the very eastern Oregon. Safe travels to you folks and thanks for sharing your journey.

I live about an hours ride from Hart Mountain. I take my bike in the Plush/Adel when the weathers nice. Was cool seeing a lot of spots that you were at. Should you get back to Hart Mountain, check out Petroglyph Lake. The turnoff is before the compound. You can walk around the west edge and see a lot of petroglyphs.

My experience with Bald mountain trails. 1) The Bald mountain trail leading to the summit of bald mountain is going to take a bit more physical energy to climb. It has a lookout that allows you a place to sit and place a tripod. Only room for one photographer. The "Y" in the trail that takes you to the summit of bald mountain is overgrown, and you won't find the trail unless you are using a trail app. The trail begins from behind a tree in 2023. 2) If you chose the quick and less physical viewpoint, this is the one that has the five hundred foot drop off, and wide-open view. If you continue down this path, there are a half dozen water sources. This is the trail you are on in the above video. 3) Something I just completed yesterday, the bald mountain ridge trail. When you are at that big intersection, the one with the USFS sign and permit box, it's the trail that begins at the NE. This is a 3-mile trail and will take you through one of the most beautiful trails you will ever experience. The altitude gain is gradual, and not too difficult. The trail is WELL maintained, and really surprised me considering it is a dead end. Ending at a point to the right (or north) of Sandy glacier. You will be within apx. 2.2 miles from a point 4/5ths up the mountain. This is the most breathtaking view of mount hood I've ever seen. There are a dozen rocks to sit on for photographers to take photos.

Be careful where you park because the locals will come down and ask you to move in some places
